Little Mexico Mexican Food in Austin

Horrible experience. There are roaches crawling on the walls as I was eating. Not to mention the salsa is very spicy . Mexican food has been ruin bc of this place

If you walk into this place before 3, walk out. Cross the street and go to el primo. Minimal taco game. Only one Salsa option. Which is a huge disappointment because salsa is often what separates mediocre Mexican from good. Asked for salsa twice and was given a miniscule amount we used up right away. Small tacos. Corn tortillas were prepared badly. The cheese on my tacos was fake velveeta. The place looks cool. Almost historic. Good outdoor seating. Average service. Good music. But dam if your craving a really good breakfast taco with some solid salsa,don't do it.Update. Had indigestion all day after eating here. Many surprise bathroom visits.

I ate the Menudo it was okay a little bit salty for my taste nevertheless it came out hot and fresh they were really busy so it took a while to get it. But the live music and the dancing was definitely a highlight of this place apparently on Sundays need frequently have bands. Friends / food/ music, this is probably a winning combination anywhere as you go. We had a pretty good time. I would definitely recommend this place for celebrating or just getting together and listening to some good music while you eat in a Gathering of a group of people.

It wasn't bad at all. I'll go back, I need to try other things to give a better review. But everything was fresh and delicious, the breakfast was delicious!

Their Menudo is as close as it gets to my dads! Great service & excellent tacos. I look forward to coming more often when in town!

Fajita plate for 2 is great so are the chips and queso! :)

An Austin original and one of the last true family owned tex mex spots.They have a nice patio on south first and both a cozy dining room or a larger room to accommodate large groups.Food is good and reasonably priced. They offer lunch specials and breakfast.

Authentic and great food

It’s our first time visiting this place, which looks fantastic it feels like an old Mexican home. About food coffee and queso are good, and salsa. Service slow and not very attentive. I won’t recommend to order soups or menudo. They are not too good. Sorry😕

If your looking for authentic Mexican food - don’t go here. The food was old and the sauce was NOT spicy.,. Never again will we come here. Very overpriced not authentic - a shiner was $4 and a Modelo $4... in car 12oz. My sons tacos had old and very hard to chew fajita beef. He did not eat.

The family and food are great

Best restaurant has been around for quite a long time. I have been doing a few times and I've always enjoyed the food. I wouldn't say it's anything extravagant, but that is what makes it great. It is fantastic Tex-Mex. I would definitely recommend the Antonio's breakfast taco!

We come to this restaurant everytime we come in from out of town. Food is great and the staff are friendly.

I love Little Mexico and have for over 15 years! The place is a quaint, family owned establishment with friendly staff. The food is great too! The beef fajitas are perfect every time. This place is truly a hidden gem!

I don't know what has happened to this place. The food used to be great. The food now is Bland no real spice No Love in the food. Something was lost and they need to find it. I don't know if it's a new cook or if it's something else. so today I took my wife to go eat some brunch she had pancakes and eggs and I had huevos rancheros. I'm sorry to say the beans tasted like they came out of a can. And the ranchero sauce was more like water down ketchup. I ordered a menudo to go which was roughly 9 bucks the amount of menudo that I received was severely disappointing. Probably a cup. I can go to Letty's taco and get twice the amount of menudo for the same price

My first time to visit on a first date. A "hole-in-the-wall" type of restaurant. It was a very quiet, clean, simple place with great tasting Mexican food. I had pork tips with red sauce, rice, frijoles a la charra, lettuce & tomato on the side, with tasty guacamole as an appetizer. The salsa and chips were spicy, crispy and delicious. It was a very good first date too! 02-02-19

I love this place! It feels really authentic and they have a backroom where you can dance with a live DJ. The staff is full of familiar faces and the food is great. Not too many folks know about this place so there’s never a wait and chips and salsa are on the house.

I was so happy to find this precious gem. Do you know that they actually put 🐖 feet inn their menudo. Truly authentic and jammed on Johnny Cash playing overhead. Way to go Little 🇲🇽 Mexico!

Food was outstanding. Service was amazing. Great customer relations. I will definitely be back again and again. Found out that they are even open for breakfast. Prices were very reasonable and very fair for the amount of food. Lad back and very easy going. Nice outdoor patio

Great food, great customer service

This is one of my absolute favorite spots in Austin! I’ve been a patron here since I was a child and will continue as long as I live in Austin! I frequently bring my friends visiting Austin here. I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet!

We ordered poblano queso and it was awful. It was not even mixed and smelled like rotten milk, so we switched out for regular queso and it was so watery. The waiter seemed uninterested in us even dining there so overall it was not a pleasant experience. Maybe it was just not a good day there? I’m not sure

Haven't been here in years. Still a small mom/pop operation and good food. Fajitas were a little tough to chew even asking if they were marinated first and told yes but I can overlook it. Good to be back in the hood even though I was just in the area. Lots have changed and HEB was CRAZY! 😂

Love this! Spicy salsa, amazing mole and fideo. Full bar in the back. Feels like home. I read the one star reviews and I say to that..... you aren't doing your job right if you don't have haters. Thank you Little Mexico for the family vibe.
